AccountEdge was decommissioned. If your business has been running on AccountEdge — or an older version of MYOB — your accounting history, payroll records, and transaction data may be locked in a format that modern software can't read. I get it out.
The AccountEdge problem
AccountEdge built a loyal base of small and medium businesses over decades. The software was reliable, well-understood, and deeply embedded in daily operations. Then Acclivity discontinued it.
Businesses left with AccountEdge face a choice that isn’t really a choice: keep running unsupported software indefinitely, or lose access to years of financial history when you finally have to move on.
The problem isn’t switching accounting software. Modern alternatives are fine. The problem is the data.
AccountEdge stores data in proprietary binary formats. When you migrate to Xero, QuickBooks, or another platform, the new system can’t read your old files. You lose:
- Full transaction history
- Historical payroll records
- Reconciled accounts going back years
- Customer and supplier records
- Inventory history
For some businesses, this history is a legal requirement. For all of them, it’s valuable.
What I do
I analyse your AccountEdge data files directly, extract the contents, and deliver your data in formats you can use — CSV exports, SQL databases, or structured data ready to import into your new accounting platform.
- Full transaction history extraction — every invoice, payment, and journal entry
- Payroll record recovery — employee records, payment history, leave balances
- Chart of accounts and opening balances for migration
- Customer and supplier contact data
- Inventory records and history
- Structured export ready for import into Xero, QuickBooks, or your chosen platform
What I need
- Your AccountEdge company file (the
.myoxor.myofile) - Ideally, the version of AccountEdge you were running
- A description of what data is most important to recover
I work from the data files. You don’t need the software to still be running.
Who this helps
Urgent Businesses that have already moved off AccountEdge but still need their historical data accessible.
Urgent Businesses that upgraded Windows and can no longer run AccountEdge.
Planning Businesses still running AccountEdge who want a safe migration path before making the switch.
Tell me about your AccountEdge data
Describe your situation — what version of AccountEdge, how many years of data, and what you need to do with it. I'll come back with an honest assessment of what's possible.
